Bladder
The urinary bladder is a hollow muscular organ that collects and stores urine between voidings. In women, it lies in the anterior pelvis — directly behind the pubic bone and in front of the uterus. Its muscular wall (the detrusor) contracts to expel urine under voluntary and autonomic control. Normal capacity is 400–600 mL.
